Art is inspiring in all forms, to all people. It sparks ideas, creativity, and thoughtfulness. The Pendleton Artists Society at Gallery 119 fully embodies the impact of art and its resounding influence on younger generations.
Founded, owned, and operated by local artists and volunteers, PAS is a nonprofit organization that focuses on cultivating art, creativity, and inspiration in Pendleton. In existence since 2013, PAS’ mission is not just centered on the growth of art culture, but also maintaining economic vitality and quality of life for Pendleton as a whole.
In 2015, PAS was awarded the $10,000 OHOP grant to equip its building with appropriate fixtures, furnishings, and systems to offer children’s programming. Beginning with the 2015 Kids’ Art Camp and continuing every summer since, children’s programming provides enriching experiences for youth, and connections to the older generations who founded and operate PAS. Art classes and showcases throughout the year show that art is for everyone, of all ages.
PAS owns and operates Gallery 119 at 119 W. State Street in downtown Pendleton. This is the location of a gallery and shop and frequent location of community events. More importantly, it is the location of numerous resources, events, classes, and spotlights for all artists and art fans.
The Pendleton Artists Society is an advocate for the cultivation of art and creativity in our community, bringing to Pendleton generations of imaginative, bold artists.
